We welcome experienced and passionate male and female SEQ Level 2 Swimming Teachers that wish to be part of the Unity Swimming team, to teach our regular weekly women’s only and adults mixed swim tuition (aged 14+) and our schools community projects.
We always welcome teachers that perhaps do not want to commit to teaching every week to cover holidays, and sickness as we begin to expand our services across Leicestershire and the East Midlands.
Teaching all abilities the Swim England Adults Framework. The beginner’s classes will be taught in the water. We have 3 ability levels from beginner to lane swimming.
All our staff are employed as self-employed teachers and will need to hold or willing to obtain;
- DBS certificate – valid in the past 3 years or on the update service
- Swim Eng safeguarding in aquatics training certificate
- NRASTC National Rescue Award for Swim Teacher & Coaches or equivalent qualification
Unity Swimming fully supports staff with regular CPD and training and pays up to £25 per hour, even if the class is just 45mins.

Swim Teacher Recruitment Academy
Want to become a swim teacher but don’t have qualifications yet?
Unity Swimming supports people from Black and Asian communities to train as swim teachers through our Recruitment Academy.
What we offer:
- Guidance on getting your Swim England Level 2 qualifications

- Mentoring from experienced teachers
- Guaranteed consideration for Unity Swimming positions once qualified
This is how we increase diversity in the swimming workforce.
Essential:
- £10 covers one child’s swimming lesson
- £50 gets 2 large swim caps for Long & big hair
- £100 provides a scholarship toward swim teacher training
- £500 covers pool hire for a 6-week school project
Desirable:
- Experience teaching diverse communities
- Understanding of cultural barriers to swimming
- Languages other than English (especially Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu, Somali, Polish)
- Lived experience as a person from an underrepresented community in swimming
